Just the Picture

Ok, so I lied. It’s not just the picture. This is what I refer to as “The Tower of Rot.” Does this happen to anyone else? I just hate wasting food, but sometimes the left overs just get lost in the back of the fridge. Eventually I suddenly realize the food is no longer edible, and instead appears to be supporting new lifeform. This here picture displays the contents of my fridge after I removed all the inedibles recently. Fridge is now quite empty!
I feel so guilty for wasting; yet pleased at having cleaned out the fridge! I guess it’s all in how you look at it.

The worst part is cleaning out all those nasty tupperwares and wondering the next time if there are still nasty germs in there.

I did that the day before yesterday. For me it is chard. I get SO MUCH chard through our CSA that a family of 8 coudn’t eat it all. Oozing, rotted chard. Mmmm.

I got rid of a pile just like this one, about a week ago. It happens, even when you try hard for it not to happen. Happily, the dog gets a lot of nice treats.

What a cool pile! I love cleaning it out so much it is almost a pleasure to toss out food. That’s bad.

I hate it when that happens… I am really bad at looking at something… knowing it is expired and leaving it to clean out later.

I like to use disposable containers so I can fling them directly into the trash without having to (*shudder*) open them.

When my husband opens them (which is rarely) he usually gags! Poor thing!
He’s inclined to just fling something gross right into the trash, and I’m the one who insists on just adding it to the Tower.

Why am I not sleeping? I had insomnia last night and lay there doing word origin analysis of the word insomnia until 1 AM. Why am I not sleeping? Because there is no point until 10:30 when we do the James wake up. Grr.
