My body is playing tricks on me

Weird… Herein lies one of those Too Much Information kind of posts, so I’ll leave it to your discretion as to whether you want to read more……….

……..

………

……….

………….

I know I had my period on March 15, because I referred to it in my crankiness meme. And it was one heck of a period too. Chunky, heavy, way more than you wanted to know… I’m just saying, I know it was there, it was awful and heavy.

Today is March 28. It’s two weeks later. I am bleeding again. Not so heavily but still, it’s there. What the hell!!??

Should I

A) call the doctor

B) ignore it and forget about it

C) only worry about it if it happens again (ok, this is not the first time I’ve been bleeding more than once in a month)

D) just assume it’s something to do with my IUD and that’s just how it goes sometimes.

OK, now that I’ve written this stuff down, I guess it’s obvious, everyone who’s dared to read this far into the post is probably going to say “it’s probably not a big deal, but call your doctor to be sure.”

I hate calling the doctor (they never want to talk to you on the phone) and I hate it when the stupid nurse (I love nurse practitioners in general, this isn’t one, and she’s really awful) calls me back and wants to talk to me like I’m an idiot and I hate going to the doctor EVEN MORE and I’m not bleeding out my eyeballs so given all that…

Should I really, really, really call / see the doctor? Is it really necessary?

What’s the worst possible thing?

I am probably not going to go ask Dr. Google, because Dr. Google always knows the very worst possible thing, and that could drive me nuts.

Indecision! Ugh!

Yuck. I hate when things like this happen. I’d probably call my doctor, but I’m lucky and everyone in my doc’s office is great. Sorry, I’m not much help today.

Yes! Call the Dr! It could be nothing, but it could also be:
    1. You are pregnant
    2. You have had an ectopic pregnancy (I know this because it happened to me and I almost died)
    3. Nothing

Don’t take chances… get checked out right away!

Are you kidding me? I love TMI.

I would tell OTHER PEOPLE that they should call the doctor, duh, just CALL, beezus! But if it were me, I would NOT call, because I HATE calling and I HATE going, and I would wait to see if ANOTHER weird thing happened. Then I would (a) feel like I really did need to call and (b) find it easier to call because I’d have more things to report. In the meantime, I would be wondering if I had had a very early miscarriage.

Call the doctor if nothing more than some peace of mind!

For me it would depend on the health insurance situation. Because you know that the doctors and nurses are going to have to play the C.Y.A. game so that you don’t sue them someday, so they’ll always tell you to go in. So if you are going to have to spend money to go in, maybe waiting another week or two would be ok???
    But that’s just me.

Could your extra bleeding be stress-related? Cause you have a bit of stress in your life, and that can do funky things to periods.

In my case, bad menstrual stuff is usually stress-related but is sometimes ovarian cancer, so I’m really not a good person to ask about this. But it’s statistically very unlikely that you’d have the same kind of ovarian cancer I’ve had, so you’re welcome for taking care of that one so you don’t have to get it.

This is so much less of a big deal, but I am waffling on whether to cancel a dentist appt which will probably turn into a root canal. The tooth doesn’t hurt THAT much. I don’t REALLY need to chew on that side.
