Snow Leopard?

In the fictional world of the Golden Compass, people have daemons which are the embodiment of their souls, a talking animal which lives outside their bodies. Sounds incredible, but you know, it’s fiction. You suspend disbelief and somehow it all works.
Stacie, over at Twinkies.bastetweb.com, apparently has a lion or a ferret or something as her daemon. There’s a fun little thingy over at Golden Compass website where you can determine what animal is your daemon. Don’t you LOVE creative film marketing ideas?
I had to give it a try too, and here’s my daemon, Nithreus, a lovely snow leopard. Do you think he suits me?

I answered the questions and Nithreus turned into a butterfly!

I know we have all been awaiting the release of this movie… but now I’m afraid to go see it out of fear of possible dissapointment.

The movie is not likely to be as good as the book. How could it be? I mean, that book is awesome!
But… it’s a movie — and it might or might not be a good movie.
I want to see it but maybe we will just wait for the DVD.
